Intimacy - I want your help
Back to Full Blog

I am thinking about writing some blogs about intimacy -

I would appreciate your assistance -

Do you have some specific areas of intimacy you would like to see me address?

I am willing to give my best attempt....

Ron,

I think an interesting blog post could be written on the topic of marriage partners improving their intimacy through sharing their true thoughts and feelings, their real selves, and their opinions and revelations.

Whit,

I will definitely keep your idea in mind as I work on this issue - I am sure there are several dimensions here that need to be mined.

cheers.

This may sound stupid, but is there a difference between what men need and what women need as far as intimacy is concerned? I'm starting to think men and women are not on the same page..........

Sorry about pesterin' you, and I should have asked, do you mean physical intimacy, or a more emotional-type of intimacy? Either way, I have questions and I would like to have your opinion. I'll be back to check this out!

Oh, Slick, that is a great idea - as you know several books have been written on the topic - most famous of which is Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus.

I will definitely address that point!

Thanks so much for coming by!

I can see I am going to busy with this topic!

Slick,

When I took on this topic at the suggestion of another blogger, I think I was thinking primarily along the emotional line - but I think it might be fun to tackle the physical dimension of intimacy as well.

When I think of intimacy, I think of some people's fear of it, being physical or emotional. It appears, if you have a fear of intimacy, it's a fear of revealing yourself to another person. If you can't do that emotionally, I would assume, you aren't giving it your all physically.

I could be wrong, and I am looking forward to what a professional opinion is on the topic!

For the record, I do not have a fear of intimacy, as far as I know, quite the contrary!

Thanks for your exceptional effort.

DeJa,

I am sure you are correct - that the fear of emotional intimacy would be a great hinderance to physical intimacy.

I am going to be at a conference for the next three days so I will be tied up - it will be at least Sunday before I get to working on this.

Ron what an excellent idea for a post. Alot of couples view intimacy as only physical yet intimacy is the deeper emotional connection you make with your partner on a much deeper level. At least it is for me. I would be interested in your take on this subject matter.

Bear Hugs!
PolarB ;)

Enjoy your conference!

PolarB,

I think you are right - about the relationship between the physical and emotional parts of intimacy -

I will work on this post.

I think Gallagher put it this way: "Men are bolts, women are nuts". Considering the differences between the sexes, you gotta wonder if God was kiddin', or if maybe we have gotten somethin' wrong.

If you take on the physical end of intmacy, you are one brave hombre!

Slick,

That Gallagher is too funny!

I am going to do some writing about the male and female versions of intimacy as well.

Thanks for coming by

Well, Slick, you may be interesting in my thoughts about the physical side of intimacy -

yes family intimacy in the sense of a bond between a mother and her child during pregnacy and after birth. Along with the intmacy with man and god.

I will probably cover spiritual intimacy at my radicaldiscipleship.com blog. The significance of the bond developed in the womb between mother and child is well-documented. What is often neglected is what happens if this bond is not achieved and its long term affect on the child.

thanks for visiting.

Rosie,

Great question - poets, especially, have waxed eloquently for thousands of years on that question - I don't think I have the linguistic expertise to match the artists.

I will try to give a humble stab at it, though.
